Knee surgery

My funny little doc said sorry when I had finally had enough of the knee pain...around March 15th....I'm ready to do the surgery...funny little doc says,  "it will be three months before I can get you in", "whaa sniff snivel" is all I said, made my appt for May 29 :( and left.  Made appt with dentist, ekg, General doc in order to get ready.  Oh and set my shearing up for May 22nd!  Little doc calls and says can I move your surgery up to May 8th?  What did I say, you ask? Of course!  Before I even thought about it...  So in a month or so I will be sporting 2 new knees.

Catching up for my fiber friends

I have been to seventy million blogs, FB pages, any medium where people are showing off their fiber skills.  I am subscribing to anything that sparks a fire in my creativity...and then it hits me...what if they come to my blog to snoop around?  Oops.  Sorry my fiber friends I have not been committed to my blog like you have been.  Kinda selfish on my part.  So here are some of my fiber goodies lately (you don't want to see the earlier stuff)

This yarn didn't turn out near as cool as it was in my mind!  I should have covered the white all the way.
The scarf I made from it, did shrink in, as it looks in the pictures...I wove extra inches so I can remove them from this end of my newbie mistake!

This was soo much fun.  I do love hand painting yarn!  Glad I weave so I can use it for myself :). Watching the pattern UN fold is half the fun :)
I-Kat pattern, that's what Eva's blog called it?...

My new A series loom

My drunk zebra rug on the rug loom

My Hawaiian inspired infinetity scarf

Trying to make a few manly scarves for my etsy shop.  This is my heaviest scarf to date, I would like a coat made out of it!

This is a saddle blanket, WAS a saddle blanket, my rug yarn changed texture and so I didn't have enough for the last 6 inches.  I entered it in the suri networks symposiums hand crafted fiber art show...took first but Donna Rudd is one smart cookie, she knew it wasn't a rug.  It would be a squirmy rug.

This fiber below cracks me up..literally...my suri yarns are notorious for this when a storm is coming.  I don't have pictures yet but I have seen my weft yarn rise to the very tippy top of my reed almost jumping off of the beater bar.  Like it were alive and needing to leave me?  It could be completely normal but I wouldn't know because I am self taught and no weavers to visit :(  I have some friends that ask if I come from Amish background?  They look at me very strange when I ask them, how is that going to be possible if all I have are AVL looms...I need some weaving friends :)
I follow Weaving a life religiously and I just discovered Sandra Rude.  Both are amazing women in my eyes.  I hope to be as smart and creative as they are one day.  I will never make it to their level because I didn't learn how to weave until the ripe ole age of 45 :(  I can dream of it!  I often wonder if starting on an AVL rug loom, complete with a compu-dobby and air assist, that I may have missed some key oppents in my learning?  Shhhh, the truth stinks sometimes :)  I see a pattern, put it in my weavepoint and take off weaving....should I go back and study design in more detail?
I am consumed with suri alpaca fiber...because I have a walking humming pile of it out in my barnyard.  I want to be an expert on it.  I want to know what happens when you mix it with silk, merino, cotton??  The mills charge me $30/lb to process my fleece into yarn, I can't afford to goof up too many times.  Hubby keeps saying to experiment with cotton...I don't want to be an expert in cotton :~<
 love ya honey :)

I just really want Molly's outlook on this alpaca weaving business!

How the hell did this happen?

He's crazier than a pet loon!  I have never had a pet loon but I'm assuming because people say it so much.

Rita having a bad hair day!  Shearer was fired!

Paid wwwaayy to much for the breeding for this little gem (Princess Ditto RockStar) I will (a herd sire will) be breeding her soon...she's 3 now!  That's how long I have been ignoring my blog...teaching myself to weave...see the big circle?

Here she is all grown up with her guardian looking over her shoulder :). Terrible pic...terrible wet spring this year!

I strayed from weaving for a bit...alpaca flowers.  Woven suri alpaca material made into a flower.

Buddha be like...

Whaaaat?  Are they horses!
Boss was only about 6 months old here.

It's a beautiful thing

Let me first show you my yarn that is much much brighter in this picture than it is in person...
summer drinks is what I was calling it...maybe summer drinks "after party" is what I should call it?
Makes my eyes hurt

I don't know if you can really see the problem here, but I hate it when I do this :(  one warp section is one yard shorter than the rest...wasted warp yarn...4 ply worsted wool, which is not easy to get a hold of.  Anyway I am at the end of a fairly long rug warp...yippee

Beautiful sight isn't it?  Fresh pile of rugs off of the loom...

The red one is for hubby's love of Alabama football
Roll tide...cept they don't have too much black?
I'm a dork...pfffft

The gray with maroon and white darts is a too big saddle blanket.  It is like stepping on heaven so I may keep it for my feet only :)  My horses wouldn't appreciate it anyway!

I'm calling this rug the drunk zebra...you will lose your cookies if you look too long.
Thinking of a 1 or 2 inch folded end on this.

Just a plain weave gray with black accents.  Kinda nice to go back to plain for awhile.

So that is why I have been MIA.
Knee surgery has been scheduled for May 29th, both knee's, ack.  I'm sceerd.
I am trying to get a bazillion projects done so I can hand finish them all while I sit for a month....boo.

OH and just for my purposes only, my oldest is trying to put me over the edge.  In my will when I die my kids have to find this blog, read it, write a report on it before they get to go sell all of my stuff :))

Why must you give me gray hairs?

Before we begin...the weather has been beautiful!  Snow is coming in 3 days but I am ignoring our weather lady and pretending. K?

Found out yesterday that I have full blown celiac disease..I have found the magic key to my messed up body issues.  Kinda freeing and terrifying all at the same time!
So now while reasearching I came across this little gem of an article...I was looking for articles on GMO foods because it is linked to my new problem.  The government is way to far up my ass.  Literally.

OH and BTW I do have a little of the "sky is falling" hen mentality so be sure and take this with a grain of salt!  What the hell does that mean?  Take it with a grain of salt???

Should we start burying our money in coffee cans??

I wanna go back to "my" good ol days.  Much simpler.

Economist Caution: Prepare For 'Massive Wealth Destruction'

Take immediate steps to protect your wealth . . . NOW!

That’s exactly what many well-respected economists, billionaires, and noted authors are telling you to do — experts such as Marc Faber, Peter Schiff, Donald Trump, and Robert Wiedemer. According to them, we are on the verge of another recession, and this one will be far worse than what we experienced during the last financial crisis.

Marc Faber, the noted Swiss economist and investor, has voiced his concerns for the U.S. economy numerous times during recent media appearances, stating, “I think somewhere down the line we will have a massive wealth destruction. I would say that well-to-do people may lose up to 50 percent of their total wealth.”

When he was asked what sort of odds he put on a global recession happening, the economist famous for his ominous predictions quickly answered . . . “100 percent.”

Faber points out that this bleak outlook stems directly from former Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke’s policy decisions, and the continuous printing of new money, referred to as “quantitative easing” in the media.

Faber’s pessimism is matched by well-respected economist and investor Peter Schiff, the CEO of Euro Pacific Capital. Schiff remarks that the stock market collapse we experienced in 2008 “wasn’t the real crash. The real crash is coming.”

Schiff didn’t stop there. Most alarming is his belief that daily life will get dramatically worse for U.S. citizens.

“If we keep doing this policy of stimulus and growing government, it’s just going to get worse for the average American. Our standard of living is going to fall . . . People who are expecting Social Security can’t get all that money. People expecting government pensions can’t get all their money . . . We simply can’t afford to pay them.”

Equally critical of the current government and our nation’s economy is real estate mogul and entrepreneur Donald Trump, who is warning that the United States could soon become a large-scale Spain or Greece, teetering on the edge of financial ruin.

Trump doesn’t hesitate to point out America’s unhealthy dependence on China. “When you’re not rich, you have to go out and borrow money. We’re borrowing from the Chinese and others.”

It is this massive debt that worries Trump the most.

“We are going up to $16 trillion [in debt] very soon, and it’s going to be a lot higher than that before he gets finished,” Trump says, referring to President Barack Obama. “When you have [debt] in the $21-$22 trillion [range], you are talking about a [credit] downgrade no matter how you cut it.”

Despite the overwhelming concern expressed by Faber, Schiff, and Trump, the most damning piece of evidence for immediate wealth destruction comes in the form of an ominous chart published last November that has been quietly making the rounds on Wall Street.

The chart, recently republished by Mark Hulbert on MarketWatch, shows a direct correlation between today’s stock market and the one leading up to the historic 1929 collapse.

The shocking parallel confirms what one expert says is in store for our country and economy this year.

Where Trump, Faber, and Schiff see rising debt, a falling dollar, and a plunging stock market, investment adviser and author Robert Wiedemer sees much more widespread economic destruction.

In a recent interview to talk about his New York Times best-seller Aftershock, Wiedemer says, “The data is clear, 50 percent unemployment, a 90 percent stock market drop, and 100 percent annual inflation… starting in 2013.”

Editor’s NoteWatch the disturbing interview with Wiedemer.

Before you dismiss Wiedemer’s claims as impossible or unrealistic, consider this: In 2006, Wiedemer and a team of economists accurately predicted the collapse of the U.S. housing market, equity markets, and consumer spending that almost sank the United States. They published their research in the book America’s Bubble Economy.

When the interview host questioned Wiedemer’s latest data, the author unapologetically displayed shocking charts backing up his allegations, and then ended his argument with, “You see, the medicine will become the poison.”

The interview has become a wake-up call for those unprepared (or unwilling) to acknowledge an ugly truth: The country’s financial “rescue” devised in Washington has failed miserably.

The blame lies squarely on those whose job it was to avoid the exact situation we find ourselves in, including former Fed chiefs Bernanke and Alan Greenspan, tasked with preventing financial meltdowns and keeping the nation’s economy strong through monetary and credit policies.

Shocking Footage
See the eerie chart that exposes the ‘unthinkable.’

At one point, Wiedemer even calls out Bernanke, saying that his “money from heaven will be the path to hell.”

But it’s not just the grim predictions that are causing the sensation in Wiedemer’s video interview. Rather, it’s his comprehensive blueprint for economic survival that’s really commanding global attention.

The interview offers realistic, step-by-step solutions that the average hard-working American can easily follow.

The video was initially screened for a relatively small, private audience. But the overwhelming amount of feedback from viewers who felt the interview should be widely publicized came with consequences, as various online networks repeatedly shut it down and affiliates refused to house the content.

Bernanke and Greenspan certainly would not support Wiedemer publicly, and it soon became apparent mainstream media would not either.

“People were sitting up and taking notice, and they begged us to make the interview public so they could easily share it,” said Newsmax Financial Publisher Aaron DeHoog. “But unfortunately, it kept getting pulled.”

“Our real concern,” DeHoog added, “is the effect even if only half of Wiedemer’s predictions come true.

“That’s a scary thought for sure. But we want the average American to be prepared, and that is why we will continue to push this video to as many outlets as we can. We want the word to spread.”

Editor’s NoteFor a limited time, Newsmax is showing the Wiedemer interview and supplying viewers with copies of the new, updated Aftershock book including the final, unpublished chapter. Go here to view it now.

I have three feet of snow and it is raining. Right now. 9:00 pm. On February 8th.

Snowing again

It snowed last night, but not enough to keep the boys home. Today it snowed big fat snowflakes all day!! Bbbwwwahahahahaa, haha. Ha, uh, sniff, whwaaaaa.

I can't even tell you how much snow we got.  I cleaned the paca pens yesterday and I think there is at least 2 more inches down there??  My eighteen inch high boots are too short....snow comes in a lot!

I'm out of places to put snow?

Pests

So Thursday I had a Fraxel laser done on my face...I look like the walking dead
Image
OK, my teeth aren't showing but everything else is dead on.  My little family of testosterone decide to go see a shoot em dead flick cuz mom is so scary to look at.  They are walking out the door and I start locking up behind them.
Why?
Image
Because my pesky little land guest will be over here in 10 minutes.
And then it hits me...what if he doesn't think anyone is home?
He always comes in when I'm not home.
How do I know?
My Chihuahua is traumatized because I think my pest, The Crazy as a Shit House Rat, must kick him or some shit, while he is in here rummaging through my stuff, looking for goods that would suit him better than me.
So I come into my office where I have a full view of his trailer and the path leading to my house....and I wait...while I'm writing this post I am in full stealth mode.
Image
Ok so my purple sweater doesn't blend in with the brown office chair THAT good but you get the idea, right?
I think it is time to have him move away.
I can't enjoy my testosterone free days with him ready to fly over at a moments notice.

Riff raff

Remember when I said the tests keep out the Riff Raff?  Well apparently, Hubby is now considered Riff Raff.  He flunked his test.  by one question.

He didn't have a book.

It was open book.

"Blink"

He will run take it again..when he gets his book...

We only got a couple of inches of snow, HOWEVER, it is colder than a witches tit here.

I have to find someone to make me a logo for my new company...more on that, later....when it becomes legal and common knowledge.

Cousin and I trimmed all of the alpacas toes.  I need for someone to come and take my alpacas from me.  I have never seen their toenails that long.  I feel bad now.  I did a little halter training on the 6 young ones, which went remarkably well.   That is when I learn which ones I love and which ones I don't :( This year I love them all...I didn't land on my ass once.

My babies go back to high school prison tomorrow.  I will miss my men/children being home all day.  I have the best boys in the universe!

My little neighbor got home yesterday so I don't have to feed her critters.  I love visiting her mules/asses/donkeys??  Not sure which they are but they are pretty cool.  Her iguanas/gecko/lizards freak me out.  They shed every time I house sit.  I took it personally until she told me that they do that a lot!

I am going to feed my hay burners and freeze my **** off

Hubby's snow driving skills

Hubby just left to take his test down in Durango.  Apparently you need to take not one but two test in order to be declared competent to work in New Mexico.  It's a good thing :) Keeps out the riff raff.

It looks like snow in our forecast.  He is going to take Red Mountain Pass.  Red Mountain Pass is one of the worst passes on this side of the continental divide.  Avalanches are a big concern right now state wide.  Why are men never afraid to drive in such crazy ass weather???  For me...cuz it's always about me...cross all of your body parts that he has a safe passage.  I am going to snuggle in after I go feed the critters...after the sun comes up :)

For now I think I will stay under my heated blankie

Just watched the weather...4-8 inches :(

Happy 2014 my peeps!

Here it is 6:30 at night on New Years Eve....I'm in my jammies while blogging :) I'm old, shush it!

I am taking care of my sweet little neighbors critters while she went home for the holidays...well my teenagers are taking care of them, ppppffftt....hhmmpff.  You have to walk a loooong way to check the horses water.  I turned around to go back to the barn and my knee decided it wanted us to stay out in the middle of a huge field...looking around...praying that her kinda mean donkeys would stay on the other end eating...I made it but my knee has checked out for the rest of the day....I'm over it :(

For 2014 I am gonna get my knees fixed and then I'm gonna be all better and I'm gonna kick ass and take names..about six months after the surgery...hahaha, ok so it's not funny but it will be worth it
I have been feeling so much better since seeing a new holistic doc, what?  I forgot?  Well he took me off of levothyroxine and put me on Amoure (sp?)  made me quit gluten (fixed the demons in my tummy). I'm off all dairy, soy, oatmeal and brewers yeast.  Brewers yeast is in everythingintheblesseduniverse!  I guess I eat the paleo diet...not sure because I haven't studied up on it?  I feel a whole lot better!  Until Thanksgiving rolled around....hot biscuits with butter.  Made me sicker than shit but it was worth it!  I had kinda gotten back on track and then Christmas showed up...more hot rolls...stuffing...gravy....everything I CANT HAVE!  It's New Year's Eve and by golly I promise to be good...the day after tomorrow, lol.

Happy New Year....my dear friends...
*crickets chirping*

Ok I know I left too long but ya have to talk to me someday, or not :)

I'm sad, I came back and I wasn't the only that had stopped blogging.  My dear Mrs/Miss Parks is still there but I found out via Facebook that she was in the hospital...and I still don't know why?  Sniff.  I found a blog from Miss Parks blog roll...Hidden Mahala...love her...I have been stalking her for about a week now.  I love her writing.  Cracks me up.  Easy to do I Know but still!

Cold

Yesterday was the first time in my seven years of farming alpaca's, that I have seen them get chilled.  My chunky mama was shivering so bad she was having trouble wolfing down the grain I gave them.  So the girls got locked in the barn and the fellas got extra hay inside of their houses.  Dogs have all been put in warm places and I am over most of them :(. 13 is too many to make any sense when you want one to do something...be prepared for 5 to do the same.
Good news we didn't get below zero last night...maybe there will be some warm sunshine today

Coyotes, fans and Demons

5:30, again, kids don't have school on Mondays, I should be sleeping, I'm woken up by.....sounds like a pack of coyotes screaming. Because it is -8, I have all 13 dogs locked up (shut up, only 6 are mine) except the Lgd's. They are over in the girls pen and so that leaves my boys unprotected.  I have a fan going allll the time because 12 of the 13 dogs bark, they only bark when something is happening.  Like say the wind is blowing, my 100 yr old horse twitched, a deer is in the yard, stripping the bark from my quakies?  The fan makes noise so I can sleep (not gut shoot the damn dogs, I'm mean when you wake me up :( Anyway I'm not sure what I am hearing so I HAVE TO get up and inspect, because things, god awful things have happened to me and my pacas up here.  Get up, trying to get to the front door, turn on the coffe pot on my way, all while my chihuahua is hanging from my Jammie legs, funny how he is such a hitler unless your grouchy and then he wants to play....or some shit?  Open the door....nothing. Nada. I think my fan has demons.

Friday, December 6, 2013

Nope, I don't wanna

5:30 a.m., 3 degrees, shit I have to crawl out of my toasty bed? Boo! Good news it's FRIDAY....still 3 effing degrees :(  I really need to teach the critters what "The weekend" means.

Thursday, December 5, 2013

-10 degrees

Again! Why? 8 degrees was the high today, woo hoo.

So you get to look at random photos :) sorry

I'm gone for too long and now I am lost.....

Google is trying to hold my blog hostage but I somehow got back here :). I must get re acquainted with the inner workings of this place, and how to not give my phone number out.  Do you guys give out your numbers?  My pictures that come through my email are public now and I had no clue it was happening.  Good news they were just pic of wildlife from my neighbor and pics from Hawaii last summer.  There are two you tube videos posted god only knows how???  Could be one of the teenagers messing around?
So don't laugh at me, K?

Still have a blog!

Ok so I closed my alpaca web pages down...trying to save $ for hay.....apparently it has gold in it?  $10 a bale around here?  Anyway I have been throwing business cards around???  Wait! I thought....where are people going if I don't have a website.  SO I typed in Housetop Mountain and it brought me back to you loveys.  Hi loveys!  If I ever get three seconds I am going to hunt everyone down...if you are still out there!
